Donation & Refund Policy

Haitian Community Cares Inc. โ€” Effective Date: June 13, 2026

1. Purpose

Haitian Community Cares Inc. ("HCC") is committed to transparency and accountability in all fundraising activities. This Donation & Refund Policy explains how donations are processed and the circumstances under which refunds may be considered.

2. Charitable Contributions

All donations made to Haitian Community Cares Inc. support our charitable mission, programs, services, community initiatives, educational efforts, economic development activities, volunteer programs, and operational expenses.

Donations may be made through:

  • Online donations
  • Fundraising campaigns
  • Corporate sponsorships
  • Event registrations
  • Matching gift programs
  • Grants
  • In-person contributions

3. Donation Receipts

Donors will receive a donation acknowledgment or receipt for eligible contributions.

Receipts may be delivered:

  • By email
  • Through the donation platform
  • By mail when applicable

Donors are responsible for maintaining records for tax purposes.

4. Refund Policy

Because donations are voluntary charitable contributions, donations are generally non-refundable.

However, HCC may consider refund requests under the following circumstances:

Duplicate Donation

A donor accidentally submits the same donation more than once.

Incorrect Donation Amount

A donor mistakenly enters an incorrect donation amount.

Unauthorized Transaction

A donor believes a donation was made fraudulently using their payment method.

Technical Error

A payment processor error results in an unintended donation.

5. Refund Request Procedure

Refund requests must be submitted within thirty (30) days of the donation date.

Requests should include:

  • Donor name
  • Donation date
  • Donation amount
  • Reason for refund request
  • Contact information

6. Refund Review

All refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Approval of a refund is at the sole discretion of HCC.

If approved, refunds will be issued to the original payment method whenever possible.

7. Event Registrations

Event registration fees may be subject to separate cancellation and refund policies disclosed during registration.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Registration fees are non-refundable within 7 days of an event.
  • No-shows are not eligible for refunds.

8. Sponsorships

Corporate sponsorships and event sponsorships are generally non-refundable once promotional materials, advertising, or sponsorship benefits have been provided.

9. Donor Privacy

HCC does not sell, rent, or trade donor information.

All donor information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
