Haitian Community Cares was founded by Samuel Jean and Shah Saint-Cyr — two community leaders brought together by a shared vision to strengthen, support, and celebrate the Haitian community.

Their journey began in 2022 at a community event where Shah was working. What started as a casual conversation quickly turned into a meaningful discussion about the challenges facing the Haitian community and the opportunities that existed to create lasting impact. As they exchanged ideas, they discovered they shared many of the same goals: empowering Haitian families, creating economic opportunities, preserving cultural heritage, and building stronger connections between community members and local organizations.
Over the following months, Samuel and Shah continued meeting to refine their vision. What began as conversations between two passionate advocates evolved into a clear mission and a commitment to action. Those meetings ultimately led to the creation of Haitian Community Cares — an organization dedicated to uplifting the Haitian community through collaboration, education, economic empowerment, cultural celebration, and community engagement.
From its inception, Haitian Community Cares has focused on building meaningful partnerships that create opportunities and resources for the community. Through collaborations with organizations such as the Miami Haitian Chamber of Commerce, The Children's Trust, Strive305, The Mics Speak, and many other community partners, Haitian Community Cares has been able to expand its reach and create a greater impact throughout South Florida.
Today, Haitian Community Cares serves as a platform that brings together residents, businesses, nonprofits, community leaders, and young professionals who are passionate about creating positive change. The organization remains rooted in the belief that when a community works together, it can overcome challenges, preserve its cultural identity, and build a stronger future for generations to come.
