The latest on Haiti's TPS designation and what it means for the Haitian community.
Background
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the termination of Haiti's Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation, effective September 2, 2025. However, a federal court order has blocked the termination.
Current Status
A partial vacatur of the 2024 TPS decision was also published, and a further termination notice is expected in November 2025.
